Call them at 888-645-3442 and ask them to fly your message. It will not be forgotten. For years now, skywriting has been known as a form of advertising. This rooted from the fascination of the display from jet planes which emit smoke that would create an array of writings in the sky. From being a favorite past time, skywriting has become more than just a display of entertainment. Advertising played its role in the form of skywriting. Skywriting is an aerial advertising service that can be witnessed during outdoor events that call for a celebration like sport shows, air shows, the holidays and just anytime vacation season. The success of this method always relied on the cooperation of the skill and technical make up of the pilot, as well as the aircraft that he would maneuver. The price range of having to invest in the showmanship of skywriting would vary depending on the type of company you would be hiring and the equipment they would be having for you. Also, you would want to take a look at the technical skills of the pilot and the crew that the companies hire and of course, the aircraft that they will be using, as well as other expenses. Media people have taken great lengths and tried out skywriting as their main form of advertising. This is for the reason that the ability of people to recall information from these aerial messages is more likely than any print or television ads. This aerial advertisement surely attracts more people than the rest of the methods mentioned. The range of audience that skywriting caters to would be wider than the average since more people would be able to see your message across. Puffs of air, made from biodegradable substances in order to abide by environmental standards, are used by the jet to display the message which will be written in just a few seconds. After which, this message should last about 7 or 8 minutes, just large enough and long enough to catch any body’s attention. The cost of this form of advertising is relatively reasonable and would be considered cheap in some standards as compared to other forms. A TV ad would last you only about 30 seconds and you would probably have missed half of it if you surf continuously through channels. Which would be more appealing to you? I bet it would be that large message across the sky that would do the trick. The demographics of a certain market really plays a big role in advertising and skywriting makes it possible to touch base with a wider grasp of audience in different parts of a particular area and with a more diverse selection as compared to TV, radio and print ads. This is a new era to advertising and it’s no wonder why a lot of people are doing this. Aside from the fact that people are more attracted to the aerial advertising options that this technique creates, it is less costly and would in fact cover a wider scope of audience than most ads. Has something like a short message written across the sky caught your attention lately? This technique is called Skywriting. This is one of the latest techniques in advertising that definitely calls the attention of huge crowds and passers by amidst all the other forms of media found everywhere. Advertising world nowadays is chaotic. Almost everything heard by our ears or seen by our eyes are results of this vast promotional tactics. No business can go on successfully with what they do without setting aside cost just to advertise what they can bring to people. With increasing demography and potential market, these businesses give their best to advertise their offers hence there is clutter. As consequence, this will make your products and services identical with the others. The technique is to make your products and services unique and stand out from the rest to entice your market and make your brand the number one priority in their list. Most products and services are promoted in traditional advertisements. In local TV stations, commercials have greater number of times shown than that of the shows, as well as in local radio stations and newspapers. Why is it that important to advertise? By advertising, we promote our products to our potential target market that are unreachable. These traditional ways are very effective hence overcrowding is created. So, what can we do then to make people retain our products in their minds? One useful way of advertising in this technology era is the Aerial Advertisement. The method of this advertisement is by launching an airplane in the sky with your banner towing from behind exposing it to a great number of people below. It is very easy and inexpensive since you only have to pay from the time the airplane launched until it landed. If done in the right place and time, this kind of advertisement is very effective. Having an event or special occasions makes these advertisements busy as bees. It is when a number of people gather in one place to enjoy one special day. The most popular event in the United States that can gather thousands is the NASCAR or the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing sponsored events. It is when the largest crowd is seen worldwide. By flying your ads up over the NASCAR sponsored car race will attract much attention by spectators below. In addition, knowing that these great events are flocked by numerous spectators, more can be aware of what you can offer to them. Furthermore, aerial advertisement is an attention-grabber and very fresh hence can instill in the minds of those who saw. Wrapping up, advertisements are some tools that make a business successful. Identifying the perfect way to promote your products and services will even make your success faster. The important thing is to execute it right. Spring Break Advertising Using Aerial Ads 03/03/2010
Every spring the beaches of Florida and Texas are the one-week residence of college students who are getting a break from the books. An estimated 2.5 to 3 million will be basking in the sun this year. They will not only spent plenty of money during that week, but they also represent $125-$130 billion dollars in spending power during the year. How that kind of money will be spent is yet to be determined, based on the skill of effective advertising aimed at them. One of the most effective forms of advertising to these students is arial banner or billboard advertising. Aerial advertising is well known. Someone hires a company to make a banner and fly a plane over a crowd of people pulling the banner. Some banners are as much as 70 feet in length, and contain information to contact the advertiser such as a phone number or a webpage address. (Billboards are simply highway billboards flown overhead.) The banner is pulled behind the plane over the students on the beach for one to two hours. Each pass allows about 17 seconds of viewing time. As the plane flies over the students for an hour, back and forth, how many times do you think they will see your ad? They will surely have it memorized by that time. Students are relaxing and mentally open during spring break week. It is a week of vacation and they have planned to spend money. Picture this: millions of students are lying on the beach when suddenly the drone of a plane overheard catches their attention. They look up and see your ad pulled behind the plane. Your company is immediately far ahead of the competition in reaching this market. The aerial ads could offer something they may want to buy when they get back to college. But they could also be ads for restaurants or clothes, things they need or want immediately. Here is a wonderful chance to impact one of the largest gatherings of impulsive buyers during the whole year. Many advertisers are cutting back now because the economy is in shambles and unemployment is high. Instead, walk through the door of opportunity packed into one week. These students aren’t thinking about the economy or the future. They just want to relax, no matter how much it costs. They are called by one tourism expert a “recession-proof” group because the students consider this a unique opportunity without a price tag! Electronic communication makes it even better. One merchant says he has his phone number on the banner and, almost immediately, he is being texted with orders. Others use G3 networks to order things on the Internet. The banner is quickly paid for and profits come rolling in. Aerial ads have another advantage: they are timeless. You will pay the full cost for the banner ad this year. However, when spring break is over, you can store the banner and use it again next year. Or, with some products, you could fly it over another beach or sporting event. The banners are well made and will last a long time. Many despair that the economy is bad and it will affect us all. But wise businesses will take advantage of the relaxing spring break crowd and make a sizeable profit through aerial advertising. Unforgettable Ways to Enter Engagement 02/11/2010
How did you say, “Will you marry me?” to your sweetheart? Probably your method wasn’t as memorable as some of these.. But if you haven’t asked her yet, perhaps this will give you some ideas on ways to do it uniquely! Nearly all of these are within reach of the average couple. Perhaps you are into extreme sports. A couple who liked skiing reached the mountain summit. Just as they were ready to begin, he proposed and she accepted. They both experienced a double rush! A skydiving couple was engaged through a hidden sign and a nod as they sped toward the ground. One contestant on a TV game show won something, then turned to the audience and proposed to his girlfriend. The nation wide publicity made it hard for her to refuse. One man arranged for help from a movie theater. When the feature ended, a message filled the screen, “Gretchyn, will you marry me?- Sam”. Everyone clapped and, of course, after recovering from the shock, she affirmed his wishes. One creative fellow got his neighbors to help. On some cue, they turned their lights off and on, spelling out the proposal. Another girl was led to believe her boyfriend was miles away. She was invited to a scavenger hunt. The last thing to find happened to take her to his hiding place and when he shocked her by appearing, then fell to one knee and proposed. Not afraid to reverse roles, one girl didn’t want to wait any longer. So when they were on a date, she said, “Darling, you know if you would ask me to marry you, I’d say yes in a minute!” . If that’s not your feminine style, a few hints won’t hurt like, “If you need to borrow money for anything, like, maybe, an engagement ring, I’d be able to help you out”, or “Let’s predict where we’ll be living next year as a married couple” Sam took his honey to a plush restaurant. She was pretty sure this would be the night he would propose but he didn’t even drop a hint during the meal. Finally it was time to go and he asked for the check. To her shock a beautiful ring was on the bill tray. He took it, slipped it on her finger and proposed. One man purchased a small book that was filled with love poems. After the few pages, he glued the rest together, then cut a heart shaped hole in the stack. She started to read them, then turned the page finding the hole was the seat of an engagement ring! Now she was really touched! Public media is a great way to propose effectively. How about taking out a full-page ad in a paper you are sure she will read. When she turns to that page, get on your knees with the ring. The ad provides a very romantic souvenir of the day. Speaking of media, a man rented a billboard along a route he knew his girl would travel, and paid for the proposal to be displayed on it. If you can be in the car with her, have the ring handy; if not, try timing a call to her cell phone as she passes the display. You might even be standing by the road, pointing at it with a ring box in the other hand! Two ideas that get top marks include the help of an airplane. Idea one is to get your proposal displayed in the sky with sky-writing. A more permanent version of this would be to hire a company to make and display a banner ad to fly over an event they are attending or beach where they are relaxing. As the banner flies by and she reads the message, he is ready with the ring, waiting for the answer. Entering into marriage is a serious step in life and pursued soberly. But that doesn’t mean you cannot be creative in the way you ask her to join you for life. Why not make it an event you will both remember throughout your lifetime together? AirSign has been providing creative skywriting and aerial banner messages around special occasions since 1996. Call them at 888-645-3442 and ask them to fly your message. It will be unforgettable. Making Use of Curiosity in Advertising 02/04/2010
Americans are bombarded with advertising in every part of life. They go to a movie and are given ads for more movies. They watch TV and find nearly as much time is spent on the ads as on the programs. They drive down the street and see billboards and shop signs. They read the news and find it surrounded with appeals to get their money. Advertisers face a daunting task of finding a way to get their ad past the mental block set up by consumers. How do you get consumers to see your ad among so many others? One effective method used is by building curiosity with sights and sounds. Sounds often involve music. Many TV ads include some type of mood setting designed to make you at least watch the ad. Other types of sounds also build curiosity and attract attention. The Superman serials on TV in the 50’s were popular with kids partly because of the air sound as the hero landed or took off. Visual curiosity is also used. The newest model of a car is covered with a cloth to build curiosity. Women are used in ads because in general they attract the attention of male consumers. Movie trailers use a collage of clips to titillate the interest and make people so curious that they won’t miss the full show. Many successful ads use both sounds and visual to attract attention amid the plethora of ads hoisted on the public in a given day. By using both the eye gate and ear gate, it is hoped that attention will be gained. Yet, after a while, the bigger and better fails to get attention because everyone is doing it, and, too often, at the same time. One form of advertising is unique in this regard. This method is called banner ads. A large billboard or long banner is pulled behind a small airplane over a large group of people. Since this is the only ad visible at the time, it is sure that there is no competition for attention. Imagine this: you are relaxing on the beach when you hear a small airplane coming. You open your eyes and notice it is pulling a long banner behind it with a message. You are curious as to what it says. You wait until the banner is in view and probably read the message several times. The plane disappears but in a few minutes it passes by again and you read it a second time. By the third time this happens you have the message memorized and after that, the sound of the plane along causes you to recite the message in your mind. The advertiser has done his job. He has built the curiosity of you, the audience, used sounds and sights to present the message, and repeated it so that it is fixed in your memory. To top it off, the message faces no competitors. If the product or service is of use to you, he will be confident that when you need it, his name will be the one you choose. Learn how AirSign has been leading the industry in providing innovative aerial advertising services since 1996. They have banner towing airplanes stationed across the States ready to fly your message over sporting events, holidays, vacation hot spots or just to that special someone. It was not love at first sight, but after six months of going together, Tom was sure that Jenny was the girl with whom he wanted to spend his life. He was pretty confident she would say 'yes' when he popped the question but wanted to do it in a way that be memorable, no matter what the cost.
So Tom called a banner tow company and told them he wanted a banner that read, "Jenny, will you marry me? - Tom." His family reunion was the second Saturday in July so he planned on this spectacular proposal while the family was there to witness it. His only other responsibility was to be sure Jenny was at the reunion and that she was outside when the message flew overhead. It goes without saying that, not only she, but the whole family was impressed!
The Williamson family finally managed to coordinate their busy schedules to help celebrate their parents' 50th anniversary. Many memories were shared, songs sung, and favorite food eaten. To top it off, at exactly 3:00 pm, the family gathered in the back yard and watched a plane fly overhead, pulling an aerial billboard reading, "Dad and Mom Williamson, you are loved!" You can be sure that this finishing touch to a wonderful day confirmed to them that this was true. Many people are exchanging a few dollars for the lasting memories a surprise banner message overhead brings. Imagine using an aerial banner to celebrate a key birthday, to welcome home a child from the military, or to recognize an honor someone received! When looking for a company to help you, don't confuse banner ads or aerial advertising with the banner ads on the computer. An aerial message is a full-length sentence or message pulled behind an airplane at a given location for a designated length of time; it is not an annoying frame that pops up on the screen. Banner ads are often seen at beaches or athletic events. The same company that provides these ads can help you with the banner message fitting for your occasion. Banner messages are simple. You think of what you want to say. Then contact an aerial advertising company and share with them what you have in mind. They are experts so they'll have suggestions to make it perfect. Then, you pay the bill and they do all the work. It is also possible to get one company to design the banner and another to fly it. Check prices to see what fits into your budget best. By the way, remember Tom and Jenny? Jenny's reply was, "Oh, Tom, I do love you but give me a week to think it over and talk with my parents, and I'll give you my answer then." Sure both Tom and his family were disappointed but they appreciated her mature approach to such an important decision. Little did he or they know what she was planning. The next Saturday, another banner flew overhead, right on time and at the right location. It read, "Yes! - Jenny" AirSign has been providing customized banner towing services since 1996. Call them today at 888-645-3442 and have them fly an aerial banner that will make your special day unforgettable. How Do Skywriting Services Work? 01/22/2010
SURRENDER DOROTHY OR DIE. This was the message written in the sky by the wicked witch in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz. Ever since then sky writing has fascinated young and old alike. (Actually the witch's message was done with special effects in a 6 foot by 6 foot glass tank.) But skywriting goes back to 1922 where it was first done in England. That same year advertisers cashed in on the idea and skywriting became famous by Pepsi-Cola who used it from 1931 to 1953. How is the smoke made? Skywriting smoke is produced by injecting paraffin oil into the exhaust of the plane. As it heats in the exhaust, the oil produces an environmentally friendly white smoke that forms the letters as it lingers in the air. Of course, the pilot must select when to inject the oil so that part of a letter is formed. The letters are generally a mile tall and the full message sometimes fifteen miles long. The letters can only be seen for perhaps twenty minutes before they drift to deformity so the message must be written quickly. Many factors determine the success of the mission. First the pilot must be skilled. He at times must fly upside down to get his letters formed. Second, the plane must be powerful enough. Not only does the plane need to be very maneuverable, but it must also be hot enough to vaporize sufficient paraffin oil to make the smoke. To do this 1500 degrees must be reached. Some recommend 450 horsepower engines that are six times hotter than small plane engines. Of course for flying weather is a major factor. The sky must be nearly clear to see the white letters against the blue sky. The wind cannot exceed three to five miles per hour. The letters are therefore formed somewhere between 7000 and 17000 feet, wherever it is cool enough and windless enough. The cooler air temperature is better for making smoke, but it cannot exceed 95 degrees. When all is just right, message can normally be seen for thirty miles on either side. These perfect conditions are most predictable in September or October. Messages are usually four to six letters long and each one takes one or two minutes to form. A shorter message is more likely to be visible at once. When a message is longer than this, then the first part may be gone by the time the last part is formed. One remedy for this is to get multiple planes involved. When two or three pilots coordinate their maneuvers, they can produce the message visible in its entirety for a few minutes before it drifts away. Think about this: the pilot is writing from the top, parallel to the earth though the message may seem to be vertical. Therefore the pilot must write the letters backwards from above so that they appear correctly to the readers below. The letters must also be uniform and in a straight line so that the message is attractive. This requires great piloting skills. Who would benefit from using skywriting? After all, it is so unique that people would have a hard time NOT reading the letters as them form in the sky. Some who have benefited from skywriting are advertisements for websites, political candidates, motion pictures, soft drinks, and others. It is also used for novel announcements. Fifty marriage proposals are written in the sky each year by one company. What is the cost for skywriting? This depends on the company, and availability. If you must fly a skilled pilot from some distance, the cost of transportation could be greater than the message writing itself. Generally for local skywriting, prices start around $1000 and multiple messages are discounted. Skywriting services are just one of the aerial advertising services AirSign provides. Learn how AirSign has been leading the industry in providing this innovative advertising method since 1996. How Are Aerial Banner Ads Flown? 01/15/2010
Have you ever been at a large gathering somewhere, like a sporting event or a beach, and seen an airplane fly by pulling an announcement or an advertisement of some type? These ads or messages are calledaerial advertising, and have proven to be an effective way to get a message out to a large group quickly. Getting this banner into the air is no easy trick. If it were attached to the plane before take off, then it could be damaged dragging it along the runway. This would also cause drag, making take off more difficult. Getting the aerial ad into the sky takes a great deal of skill. But the huge success of banner advertising makes it worth the trouble. First, the airplane takes off with a device called a "grapnel hook" hanging in the window. The other end is attacked to the tail of the airplane by either rope or cable. Once the airplane is airborne, the pilot releases the hook from his window and lets it fall. The hook falls below the plane and is ready for the next part. Meanwhile, on the ground the banner is folded up, but it has a lead pole attached to the front. A harness is attached to that and a pick up rope to that. Finally a loop of rope connected to the lead rope is draped between two poles about five or six feet off the ground. Next the plane flies over the open area where the banner's loop is visible. As he passes low over the area, the hook dragging below the plane is designed to catch the loop, pulling the lead rope and then the banner into the air. The moment he reaches the pick up area, he pulls back on the stick and throttles the engine, making the plane soar upward at a steep angle. The hook snags the loop of rope, and pulls the banner up into the sky. If for some reason his hook misses, then he circles around and tries again. But how does the banner stay upright and not, like a kite, spiraling in the wind? First, the tail end of heavy billboards or banners has tiny parachutes that catch the wind and keep it straight. Then the bottom has weights that keep that edge closest to the ground. The letters are usually seven feet tall and the banner might be up to fifty letters long. So everything must be planned just right so that the drag is not too great or too little. When he has finished displaying the banner, the pilot flies back to the landing field, comes in low and releases the banner. It falls to the ground and is ready for another display if the message warrants it. Larger planes are able to actually pull the banner with them on takeoff without damaging it, but most single engine prop planes use the plan outlined above to get the banner into the air. All this may seem like a lot of trouble, but the result is worth the effort. Thousands will see the banner, both at the event and on the way to and from it. The message will get out and people will be influenced by the message. But not all aerial advertising companies are alike. Some simply take an order and contract it out. Since 1996, AirSign has been leading the industry by taking personal care of their customers using the best pilots, sharpest looking planes, and providing accountability for their work through free GPS tracking.
